Bite Sized Info... where the articles are short and the snippets are snappy!
Expect to see regular posts of interesting bits and pieces.
Come back soon! Click on 'read more' if you want to find out the reason behind this site. This is how I use BiteSized.info, if you'd like to use the site in the same way I do, you're most welcome to it.
I use it to publish extra explanatory information that would otherwise distract from my articles. For instance, in an article I wrote about Nero (http://hubpages.com/hub/nero) it had a mention of a man named Burrus, who was the head of the Praetorian Guards. Rather than go off on a tangent in that article trying to explain to the reader what the Praetorian Guard is about, they have an option to click on the link and get the background information here.
The information published here (http://bitesized.info/article.php?story=praetorian), is short and sweet and to the point. And not contained within the original article at all.
The benefit for you, the writer, is two fold. In addition to giving the reader the background info, you have yourself a chance to publish an original snippet of information here, with a link back to your original article.
If I know you from Squidoo or HubPages then I'm preaching to the choir. You know exactly what I mean, how it works and what's expected. Others however... you'll need to take notes and pay close attention, otherwise you'll be wasting my time and yours.
Here's what I'm looking for in point form:
- This site is to publish extra explanatory information that would otherwise distract from your main article.
- If you've got a snippet of information that relates to your article is between 100 and 300 words AND well written. You can publish it with a hyperlinked keyword straight to your article.
- Add a link from your article to the corresponding BiteSized.info snippet after your submission is approved.
- Anyone going nuts with hyperlinks will be deleted.
- Snippets MUST be well written, in English and original. If not, it'll be deleted.
- I'm all about the quality, so read that last point again. Don't copy and paste content from other sites, as I will be doing a search to see if it's already online. And don't copy and paste anything out of your hub/lens/article, as it'll defeat the purpose. See the first point again.
- I'll repeat that last point again: Don't copy and paste content from elsewhere. If it is, it'll be deleted.
- No links to affiliate sites. Links can only go to your Gather, HubPages, Squidoo and similar content rich pages.
- BiteSized.info is NOT a traditional article directory, or a way to get a quick backlink to your article. See the first point again.
If you wish to contribute, the best way is to first contact me via my lensmaster profile page at Squidoo. And let me know what username you'll be registering here and then I'll be able to wave through your submissions faster. At Squidoo I'm known as Glen or N376.
Sorry to create the extra speed hump in getting approval but I've learned from experience that 99% of contributions will most likely be either spam or crap, and I'll be getting plenty the more this site gets popular. This way I'll be well aware of who the real people are.
