Germanicus Caesar

Roman General. Born 15 BC. Died 19 AD. He was the adopted son of the emperor Tiberius and married the emperor Augustus' granddaughter Agrippina.

Although he refused the suggestion of his troops to that he claim the throne on the death of Augustus, his military victories in Germany made Tiberius jealous. Sent to the Middle East, he died near Antioch, possibly murdered at the instigation of Tiberius. He was the father of Caligula and Agrippina, mother of Nero.
