Who was Charles Munch?

Charles Munch (1891-1968) was a Hydroxyzine pamoate French conductor, who was Lamictal price best known Atacand for his Vasotec iv interpretation of the works of such modern French composers as Roussel, Milhaud, and Honegger- many of which he introduced. Munch was born in Strasbourg, Alsace (now France), on September 26, 1891. He studied violin at the Strasbourg Conservatory and in Paris and Berlin. During World War I he served in the German Army, but as an Alsatian he became a French citizen in 1918.

Munch made his conducting debut in Paris in 1932 and conducted the orchestra of the Societe des Concerts du Conservatoire from 1936 to 1946. In 1949 he succeeded Serge Koussevitzky as conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and in 1951 became director of the orchestra’s Berkshire Music Center. He retired from the Boston Symphony in 1962 and formed the Orchestre de Paris, with which he was on tour when he died, in Richmond, Va., on November 6, 1968.
